Welcome to Quarter 2, Scientists! πŸ§ͺ

Last week was our first week of Quarter 2, and we started with some important changes to our science classes!

As you know, Mr. Moste is no longer your science teacher. All middle school science classes began the quarter meeting in my classroom as we prepared for a new way of learning.

πŸ’» Getting Ready for Online Science

This quarter, we are transitioning to an online learning platform that will allow you to explore science through digital lessons, activities, and assignments.

Here’s who will be supporting your learning:

  • Mr. Kooyaquaptewa will be your main classroom facilitator. He will help you follow daily routines, stay on task, and complete your activities.
  • I will continue as your teacher of record, overseeing your science instruction, assignments, and academic progress.

We will work together to help you have a successful quarter!

πŸ“š What Did We Accomplish Last Week?

Before jumping into our science lessons, we spent time learning how our classroom will operate.

We accomplished several important things:

  • Classroom Procedures: We practiced daily routines, reviewed classroom expectations, and became familiar with our new learning environment.
  • Exact Path Assessments: You completed your diagnostic assessments! These help us identify the skills you’ve already mastered and the areas where you can continue growing.
  • Science Workbooks: You received the workbooks for your upcoming learning modules. These will help you practice important science concepts alongside your online lessons.
  • Reading Assignment: You were asked to read the first section of your workbook so you’ll be prepared for our review on Monday.

That’s a great start to the quarter!

πŸš€ What’s Happening This Week?

This week, we’ll continue building our confidence with our new science learning routines.

Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Explore Exact Path: Continue learning how to navigate the platform, access your lessons, and complete assignments.
  2. Work in Your Science Workbook: Continue reading and completing activities that support your science modules.
  3. Review and Discuss: We’ll begin by reviewing the first section of your workbook on Monday.
  4. Practice Independent Learning: Follow directions, manage your time, and ask for help when you need it.

Remember, your online lessons and workbooks are both important parts of your science education!

🌟 A Fresh Start!

Changes can take some getting used to, but they also bring opportunities to develop new skills.

As we settle into our new routines, remember that you are responsible for participating, completing your work, and giving your best effort every day.

You don’t have to know everything right away. What’s important is that you stay curious, keep practicing, and continue making progress.

Our goal is simple: Stay curious, work hard, and keep learning!

Let’s make Quarter 2 a great one, scientists! πŸ”¬πŸŒŽ
